Environment Monitoring

What it is
Environment monitoring is performed to assess the microbial activity of the production environment. Testing methods include:

  • Microbial surface testing (RODAC/contact plates and swabs)
  • Microbial air sampling (active or passive)
  • Non-viable particulate sampling
  • Microbial water testing

Why you need it
Your manufacturing facility, the manufacturing process itself—even your people—can add bioburden to the product. To control contamination, vigilance is crucial. Monitoring the environment on a regular basis is not only necessary, it's mandatory.

How it is done
There are a number of ways SteriPro® Labs can assist you in managing the monitoring process.

  • Testing materials can be delivered to you for in-house sampling and then returned to SteriPro Labs for incubation and analysis.
  • Where practical, a trained environmental technician can travel to your facility to perform the sampling, testing and analysis.
  • SteriPro Labs personnel can also assist you with establishing your sampling plans, training your staff in proper sampling techniques and in developing trending tools.
