Drug Device Combinations

With the development of devices, such as stents, which have been coated with a pharmaceutical preparation, there was a need to provide sterilization processes that delivered a SAL of 10-6 without impairing the efficacy of the drug. Sterigenics can provide:

Terminal Sterilization of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s)

With the need to ensure ‘sterility’, the practice of enhancing the aseptic manufacture SAL of pharmaceuticals is being increasingly adopted. However, the sterilization process must not affect the drug efficacy, so Sterigenics has developed a radiation sterilization process to achieve this. Terminal Sterilization can also be used as a replacement for, or addition to, aseptic manufacturing.

Through the ExCell® irradiators, Sterigenics can provide:
